Raymond Krediet Professor Krediet completed his training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in the University Hospital of Amsterdam in 1978. He was appointed as director of the dialysis unit of the University of Amsterdam in 1979, the year that he introduced CAPD in the Netherlands. He completed his PhD thesis on "Peritoneal permeability in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis patients" in 1986. In 1998 he was appointed as Chief of the Division of Nephrology Academic Medical Center, University of Amsterdam and in 1999 as Professor of Nephrology. Professor Krediet's research is mainly focussed on various aspects of peritoneal dialysis, both clincial and experimental and the Netherlands Cooperative Study on the Adequacy of Dialysis.
