Jamie completed a PhD in clinical exercise physiology at Bangor University. He now has an honorary contract with the local Health Board and leads a kidney disease exercise rehabilitation program for Gwynedd Hospital Renal Unit. Jamie is a member of the Kidney Research UK Exercise and Lifestyle Clinical Study Group and the exercise and nutrition thematic lead for the Wales Kidney Research Unit. He is currently involved in two National Institute of Health Research-funded studies: PEDAL (PrEscription of intra-Dialytic exercise to improve quAlity of Life) and BISTRO (BioImpedance Spectroscopy to maintain Renal Output). His interest in bioimpedance started when he developed a new equation that utilised the bioimpedance technique to enhance estimation of Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) (https://doi.org/10.1093/ndt/gfl432). He now helps deliver the bioelectrical impedance training package for BISTRO.
