Martin Wilkie is a renal physician at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an honorary reader at the University of Sheffield.  He is the Home Therapies and Self-care lead for the Yorkshire and Humber Renal Strategy Group.  He has a longstanding interest in peritoneal dialysis, has been a faculty member of the UK PD academy for more than 10 years, and is an associate editor of Peritoneal Dialysis International and chair of the clinical guidelines committee for the International Society of Peritoneal Dialysis.  He has an active research interest in peritoneal dialysis and leads a Health Foundation and NHS Kidney Care programme on Shared Care Haemodialysis for Yorkshire and the Humber.  He is a member of a team working on a decision aid for patients facing dialysis.
